Global Studies for DLI

Develop approaches to polling faculty at SDSU to determine interest in participating in distance learning. Contact SDSU faculty across several colleges, in particular, with personnel and faculty in the departments of Homeland Security and ISCOR International Security and Conflict Resolution. Identify a group of potential course authors to present the program. Host several informational sessions, introducing faculty who have expressed interest in being authors to the online LingNET lesson structure. Set and maintain realistic course preparation timetables for the completion of courses for the Defense Language Institute curriculum, as offered through San Jose State University’s Department of Global Studies. Consult regularly with the core team of collaborators. Follow though on the faculty contacts; generate, follow and process paperwork related to faculty pay. Meet with San Jose State and CSU Monterey Bay consultants, and train participating faculty on the Eluminate system and other technologies as deemed appropriate by the primary contractors, etc.
