International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC): Venezuela (English) (Español)
The ICRC's regional delegation in Caracas focuses on spreading awareness of IHL among the armed forces and civil society. It contributes to the integration of human rights standards into the manuals and training programmes of police forces. The delegation promotes the ratification of humanitarian treaties and the adoption of national implementation measures. Sus actividades se centran en la promoción de normas y principios humanitarios entre las fuerzas armadas y de seguridad, así como entre la población civil. Promueve la ratificación de tratados humanitarios y la aprobación de medidas de aplicación del derecho internacional humanitario (DIH) a nivel nacional. Además, presta especial atención a la preparación para responder a las necesidades humanitarias que puedan surgir en caso de tensiones y disturbios internos.
