Persian – STARTALK Infrastructure Project

The Language Acquisition Resource Center was awarded the STARTALK Dari and Persian Infrastructure building project in 2016. Through this project five Persian courses were developed at the ACTFL Novice-Mid to Intermediate-High proficiency levels. Each course (60 contact hours) contains two curricula, one for listening and speaking, and one for reading and writing for students in grades K-8; 20 learning plans for each curriculum (total 200 learning plans); 12 instructional videos at the Novice and Intermediate levels narrated Persian to complement the curricula and learning plans and make STARTALK-endorsed principles more comprehensible and accessible to Persian teachers, in particular, and to all other teachers, in general. Because they are developed based on ACTFL proficiency guidelines and not local or regional curricula and standards, these resources can be utilized effectively to fit the needs of any K-8 language program in the United States.
