Welcome Modified OPI (MOPI) Assessment Workshop Information Page

On January 11th and 12th, SDSU will host a 2-day Modified OPI (MOPI) Assessment Workshop for Arabic, Chinese, Russian, and English/Mixed. These workshops run from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm (45 minutes for lunch and two 15-minute brain breaks) on both days and will be held on the San Diego State Campus, in the Storm Hall building, 2nd floor.  Participants will stay at the Doubletree Hilton San Diego Mission Valley, which is located along the Green trolley line, and is just a 20-minute ride to the SDSU transit station on campus. SDSU will provide participants with complimentary trolley passes for the two days of workshops. Travel, room, and per diem will be reimbursed, so please save your receipts.

Those interested must attend the same language sessions on both days.  SDSU will make lodging reservation and reimburse airfare and cover workshop fees.  Seats are limited so please be sure to sign up quickly.  SDSU will work to accept as many instructors as possible, while also working to give each Project GO institution the chance to send one representative.  Registration for the MOPI workshops will open October 24, 2022.

SDSU, DLNSEO, and IIE are committed to providing a safe meeting experience for all, and are carefully monitoring the COVID-19 pandemic and recommended safety guidelines for large group gatherings. There will also be rapid COVID-19 self-tests available as needed, should anyone develop symptoms during the course of their stay for the MOPI workshop.A finalized COVID-19 safety plan will be shared with participants closer to the workshop date in accordance with current recommendations and SDSU/San Diego city/county policy. All attendees will be expected to follow the COVID-19 safety guidelines put in place for the MOPI workshop.
