The Language Acquisition Resource Center at San Diego State University (SDSU-LARC) is continually seeking qualified contractual language instructors to develop materials and teach for one of its partners in the U.S. Department of Defense. The languages of interest and instructor qualifications are listed below.

  • Professional proficiency in the target language, ILR 2+/3
  • Advanced proficiency in English
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent
  • Language teaching experience
  • Documented superior proficiency in the taught language and English
  • Documented training in ACTFL and/or ILR proficiency guidelines (familiarization and other workshops without certification acceptable)
  • BA, MA in an area relevant to education (Linguistics, Education)

Contractual instructors’ hourly compensation rate falls in the range $30 - $35. A typical weekly teaching schedule comprises 15 hrs of in-class teaching time, as well as 9 additional hours of paid time for preparation / administrative tasks.
